## Kurz gesagt

Zwei Seiten aus dem Comicteil einer Zeitung: ein großer Farbcomic auf dem Titelblatt, dann ein Artikel über die Zeichnerin in vier Spalten mit dem Tagesstrip aus vier Bildern darunter.

## Was Sie setzen

Die Comicbeilage einer Wochenendzeitung, *Corringtoner Kurier*, auf 230 × 310 mm gefaltet. Das Titelblatt trägt die halbe Sonntagsseite von *Pip & Otto*, einem Pinguin und einem Walross, die auf einer Eisscholle eine Bäckerei betreiben, mit dem Inhalt darunter. Innen läuft ein Interview mit der Zeichnerin des Strips in vier Spalten, mit Leserbriefen und einer Anzeige, und der Tagesstrip der Woche, vier quadratische Bilder, läuft darunter über die ganze Seitenbreite. Beide Comics sind Blöcke `:::strip` im Text der Zeitung, und die Beilage erscheint in zehn Sprachen.

**Dieses Rezept beantwortet:**

- Wie setze ich einen Comicstrip auf eine Zeitungsseite, über die Spalten des Textes?

## Die kurze Antwort

```js
// script.js, Zeilen 59–81
// In the Markdown each strip is a fenced block, where the paper wants it:
//   :::strip{split="55 / * [40 | *]" height=210mm}   the Sunday half page, on the cover
//   :::strip{split="* | * | * | *" span=page}   the daily: four square panels
// On the one-column cover the Sunday strip is set in the text, 210 mm deep. Inside, the daily
// follows the article, as wide as its four columns, and the columns of the article end
// level above it (placement=bottom would float it to the page's foot). A strip never
// splits; one that does not fit moves to the next page.
// The panels, gutters and balloons come from the comics settings, as on a comic page.
const comics = {
  gutter: { horizontal: mm(3), vertical: mm(3) },
  panel: { borderWidth: pt(0.75), borderColor: col('ink'), background: col('paper') },
  lettering: { fontFamily: LETTERING, fontSize: pt(7.5), color: col('ink'), inset: mm(1) },
  balloonStyles: [
    { id: 'speech', fill: col('paper'), stroke: col('ink') },
    { id: 'whisper', fill: col('paper'), stroke: col('ink') },
    { id: 'shout', fill: col('paper'), stroke: col('ink') },
    { id: 'caption', fill: col('accent'), stroke: col('accent'), color: col('paper'),
      fontFamily: LABEL, bold: true },
    { id: 'sfx', fontFamily: SFX, color: col('accent'), haloColor: col('paper') },
  ],
};
const layout = { layoutType: 'multiple', columnCount: 4, gutterWidth: mm(GUTTER),
  columnRule: { enabled: true, color: col('rule'), lineWidth: pt(0.4) } };
## Zubereitung
### 1 · Den Strip dort schreiben, wo die Zeitung ihn haben will
Der Code steht oben in [der kurzen Antwort](https://postext.dev/de/cookbook/newspaper-daily-strip.md#die-kurze-antwort). Ein `:::strip` hat den Inhalt einer Comicseite (sein `split`, seine Zeilen `::panel` und deren Skript), ist aber ein Block im Text ([Strips](https://postext.dev/de/docs/comics.md#strips)). Auf dem einspaltigen Titelblatt steht der Sonntagsstrip dort, wo er geschrieben ist, 210 mm hoch, und der Inhalt folgt ihm. Seine Aufteilung, `55 / * [40 | *]`, gibt der breiten Angelszene eine eigene Reihe und den beiden Pointen eine Reihe darunter. Ein Strip teilt sich nie: Einer, der nicht passt, wandert ganz auf die nächste Seite.
![Seite 1. Das Titelblatt der Comicbeilage: der rote Kopf „Comics“, die halbe Sonntagsseite (Pip und Otto angeln auf einer Eisscholle, Pips winziger Fisch flüstert „Wirf mich zurück.“, Otto zieht mit einem „PLATSCH“ einen Stiefel heraus) und drei Zeilen Inhalt: „In dieser Ausgabe“, „Post an die Scholle“ und „Nächsten Sonntag“.](https://postext.dev/cookbook/newspaper-daily-strip/de/p01.webp?v=955738f0)
*Das Titelblatt: die halbe Sonntagsseite im Text, der Inhalt darunter.*
### 2 · Den Tagesstrip über die Spalten gleiten lassen
Die Innenseite beginnt mit einer H1, deren Überschriftenformat den Abschnitt auf vier Spalten umstellt. Der Tagesstrip steht nach dem Artikel mit `span=page`: Er wird dort, wo der Text endet, über die vier Spalten gesetzt, und die Spalten des Artikels enden darüber auf gleicher Höhe. Ohne `height` oder `aspect` nimmt ein Strip die Form an, die seine Panels quadratisch macht, hier vier zu eins. Mit `placement=bottom` würde er an den Fuß der Seite gleiten, was zu einem Artikel passt, der lang genug ist, um ihn zu erreichen; mit `placement=top` würde er die nächste Seite eröffnen, weil ein Gleitobjekt nie über die Stelle steigt, an der es geschrieben ist.
### 3 · Jedes Bild in seine Zelle einpassen
Jede Ausgabe setzt die Zeitung in Schriften für ihr Schriftsystem und lettert die Strips in ihren eigenen Comicschriften. Die japanischen Sprechblasen laufen senkrecht. Die japanische und die arabische Ausgabe lesen die Strips von rechts nach links, deshalb tauschen die Panels jeder Reihe die Plätze; die arabische, von rechts nach links gesetzt, spiegelt außerdem die Spalten der Seite. Die Bilder und die Aufteilung bleiben gleich; nur `content.<lang>.md` ändert sich ([Leserichtung](https://postext.dev/de/docs/comics.md#leserichtung)).
## Das ganze Rezept
Eine Datei, aus dem Ordner des Rezepts zusammengesetzt, mit dem Beispieltext und dem gemeinsamen Baukasten der Rezepte bereits eingebettet; sie baut ihre eigene Seite auf. Zum Ausführen setzen Sie sie in ein `<script type="module">` auf einer leeren Seite oder fügen sie in das JS-Feld eines neuen CodePen-Pens ein (als Modul). Sie importiert postext von esm.sh, es gibt also nichts zu installieren oder zu bauen.
# Zehn Winter auf der Scholle {style="inside"}
:::paragraphs{style="byline"}
Von Ruth Okafor · Kultur
:::
Ines Barlow zeichnet seit zehn Jahren an jedem Werktagmorgen einen Pinguin und ein Walross, an einem Küchentisch in der Saltmarsh Lane. *Pip & Otto* erschien am 17. Oktober 2016 zum ersten Mal im Kurier, unter das Kreuzworträtsel gequetscht. Heute läuft der Strip in elf Zeitungen, in sechs Sprachen, und er passt noch immer in vier quadratische Bilder.
„Die Regel ist, dass die Pointe im vierten Bild kommt und nicht vorher“, sagt Barlow. „Wenn Otto schon im zweiten Bild witzig ist, habe ich den Strip verschenkt.“ Pip ist klein, höflich und hat immer Hunger. Otto betreibt auf einer Eisscholle eine Bäckerei, trägt bei der Arbeit eine Fliege und hat noch nie eine klare Antwort gegeben. Die Leser schreiben beiden. Die meisten Briefe gehen an Otto.
Barlow wuchs über der Bäckerei ihrer Eltern in der Harrow Road auf – daher die Croissants. Der Pinguin kam erst später, mit einer Postkarte, die ihre Großmutter aus Kapstadt geschickt hatte. „Mit neun habe ich Pip auf die Rückseite eines Bestellblocks gezeichnet. Den Schal hatte er schon. Für Otto habe ich noch zwanzig Jahre gebraucht.“
Im Sommer 2016 schickte sie dem Kurier ihre ersten sechs Strips, mit einem Begleitschreiben von einer Zeile. Der damalige Comicredakteur Martin Fry druckte sie einen Monat lang zur Probe. Die Probezeit ist bis heute nicht zu Ende. Fry, inzwischen im Ruhestand, bekommt den Strip noch immer einen Tag früher mit der Post. „Er sagt mir, wenn ein Witz schwach ist“, sagt Barlow. „Meistens hat er recht.“
Die Arbeit beginnt am Montag mit fünf Bleistiftskizzen auf A4-Bögen, vier Kästen pro Bogen. Bis Mittwoch sind sie getuscht und koloriert. Die Bilder gehen ohne ein einziges Wort an die Zeitung; der Text kommt getrennt, als kurzes Skript: wer spricht, in welchem Bild und was. Ein Geräusch bekommt eine eigene Zeile.
Damit fing sie 2019 bei der französischen Ausgabe an. „Einen Strip zweimal von Hand zu lettern kostete mich eine Woche“, sagt sie. „Heute setzt jede Zeitung den Text in ihrer eigenen Sprache, und die Sprechblasen werden um ihn herum gezeichnet.“ Die deutschen Zeitungen drucken *Frisch aus dem Ofen!*; die japanische Ausgabe stellt ihre Sprechblasen in senkrechte Spalten und liest die Bilder von rechts nach links, wie die arabische. Die Zeichnungen ändern sich nie.
Die Vier-Bilder-Regel gilt sonntags nicht. Er nimmt eine halbe Seite ein, in Farbe, und Barlow behandelt ihn wie eine Kurzgeschichte: drei Bilder, ein langsamerer Witz und meistens ein Fisch. Der dieser Woche steht auf der Titelseite.
Wie geht es weiter mit den beiden? „Otto wird Schlittschuhlaufen lernen“, sagt Barlow. „Es wird ihm keinen Spaß machen.“
## Varianten
### Dem Tagesstrip eine feste Höhe geben
```diff
-:::strip{split="* | * | * | *" span=page}
+:::strip{split="* | * | * | *" span=page height=45mm}
```
### Einen einspaltigen Strip im Text laufen lassen
Ohne `span=page` ist ein Strip so breit wie seine Spalte und steht dort, wo er geschrieben ist, wie eine Abbildung im Text.
```diff
-:::strip{split="* | * | * | *" span=page}
+:::strip{split="* / * / * / *" aspect=0.25}
```
## Häufige Fehler
- **Ein 'top'-Gleitobjekt kommt auf die Seite nach seinem Verweis, außer es darf die verweisende Seite eröffnen.** Standardmäßig steht ein Gleitobjekt nie über seinem eigenen Verweis, sodass ein seitenbreites 'top'-Gleitobjekt, auf das auf Seite N verwiesen wird, Seite N+1 eröffnet. Setzen Sie placement.citingPage: true an der Ressource oder am defaultPlacement ihres Typs (oder layout.floatsAtCitingPage für das ganze Buch, seit postext 1.25), dann steht es stattdessen oben auf Seite N, und der Text über dem Verweis rückt darunter, sofern es in layout.maxTopFraction passt und die verweisende Zeile auf dieser Seite bleibt. Es eröffnet nie die erste Seite eines Kapitels oder eine Seite nach einem erzwungenen Umbruch: dort eröffnet es weiterhin die nächste Seite, und 'auto' oder 'bottom' können den Fuß der verweisenden Seite einnehmen.
- Den Kopf der Beilage zeichnet die Kopfzeile, nicht ein H1-Auftakt, deshalb steht über dem Strip des Titelblatts nichts als die Zeile mit der Pagina.
- Ein Sicherheitsbereich, der breiter ist als die Form ihrer Zelle, rahmt das Bild mit Balken in der Hintergrundfarbe des Panels ein, und der Build warnt mit `comicPanelLetterbox`.
