## 成品一览

一本虚构的活字与排版研究期刊上一篇研究笔记的两页，题为《号数活字の三つの系列》（号数活字的三个系列），按日本学会会刊的常见版式排出：A4开本，双栏，每栏每行25字，每页45行，正文是9 pt的Noto Serif JP，标题用Shippori Mincho B1，排在期刊的绿色色带上。引文遵循SIST 02，即日本科技期刊使用的参考文献著录指南：每条文献按在正文中首次被引用的先后编号，写作(1)、(2, 3)；参考文献下的文献表里，日本人名姓在前，出版地在出版者之前，出版年放在最后。一张九种号数字号的表格、一幅按实际大小画出这些字号的图和两条脚注都用日文标签。它对应的中文食谱是[按GB/T 7714著录参考文献的中文论文](https://postext.dev/zh/cookbook/gbt7714-chinese-paper.md)。

## 做法

### 1 · 样式、语言区域和脚注

代码就是上面的[简短回答](#简短回答)。`postext-citeproc`自带SIST 02样式`'sist02'`和CSL语言区域`ja-JP`，后者用日文写出文献表里的用语；在叙述式引文中，两位日本著者之间用と连接，三位以上用ほか（[引用](/zh/docs/configuration#引用)）。正文里，`[@kawada1949; @suzuki2015]`印出(2, 3)，`高橋[@takahashi2012]が`把序号放在人名之后，排成高橋(8)が。这个样式与中文的GB/T 7714区别在序号的标注：SIST 02把序号放在圆括号里，与正文平排；GB/T 7714放在方括号里，排成上标。脚注无须设置：`locale: 'ja'`让横排文档的注文排在栏底，每页从1编号，序号为上标，注线长为栏宽的三分之一。

### 2 · 用CSL-YAML块提供文献数据

文献数据写在Markdown末尾的`:::references{format=csl-yaml}`块里，格式与Zotero导出的CSL YAML相同（[引用](/zh/docs/document-format#引用)）。日本人名分成`family`和`given`写，`{family: 鈴木, given: 広光}`，SIST 02把姓和名连排成鈴木広光，Kornicki则保留逗号：Kornicki, Peter。丛书名写在`collection-title`里，印在出版年后的圆括号中；《日本印刷学会誌》的两篇文章写出卷、号和页码：vol. 49, no. 2, p. 76–80。所有文献都真实存在，可以在CiNii上核对。

题名区是一级标题的设计，所用标题样式跨两栏通排。色带是锚定在裁切边上的方框；标签、题名及其英文译名排在色带上，每一项放在上一项之下，所以题名排成三行时，英文那一行会随之下移。作者和她的单位取自标题属性，放在色带下方。

摘要是一个通栏标注框，上方有一条绿色细带，标签是行内标签，用期刊颜色的黑体粗体排。每个标签后面有一个全角空格，写在Markdown里，把要　旨和正文隔开。

`defaultResourceTypes('ja')`提供図和表两种类型；这篇论文全文连续编号，表1和図1，不按章编，所以模板是`'{n}'`。两者都放在`'here'`，即栏内引述它们的段落下方。图中的方块按它们所代表的字号实际大小画出，从初号的42 pt到八号的4 pt，每一级减半在页面上一眼可见。

## はじめに

日本語の活字印刷は、近世初期の古活字版のように早くから試みられてきたが[@kornicki1998]、出版の主流となったのは明治に入って金属活字が鋳造されてからである[@kawada1949; @suzuki2015]。その活字の大きさは、いまのようなポイントではなく、「号数」という独自の単位で呼ばれていた。

号数活字の名前は、組版や印刷の歴史を扱う文献にたびたび現れる[@yahagi1976; @komiyama2009]。しかし、九つの大きさがどのような関係で並んでいるのかは、個々の数値ほどには知られていない。本稿では、号数の大きさを系列ごとに整理し、その構造が組版に与えた影響を考える[^term]。

## 号数活字の成立

号数の体系は、1869年に長崎で本木昌造らが上海の美華書館の技術者から活字鋳造を学んだことに始まるとされる。その後、平野富二が東京築地活版製造所を設け、号数活字は同所の製品として全国に広まった[@itakura2006]。同所の活字見本は、近代日本の書体と字形を知るための基本資料となっている[@fukawa2005]。

## 三つの系列

号数活字の大きさを[@tbl:sizes]に示す。九つの大きさは、互いに倍と半分の関係で結ばれた三つの系列に分けられる。初号・二号・五号・七号の系列、一号・四号の系列、三号・六号・八号の系列である（[@fig:series]）。

この構造には実務上の利点があった。五号の本文に七号のルビを付けると、ルビの大きさはちょうど本文の半分になる。また、二号の文字一つは五号の文字二つ分の幅に当たるので、見出しの字数を本文の字数に換算して版面を割り付けやすい。号数の名前は、大きさの序列というより、この倍数関係を前提とした組版の道具立てだったといえる。

## ポイントへの移行

東京築地活版製造所は、1903年にアメリカ式のポイント制による活字を売り出した。それでも号数活字は長く使われ続け、1962年の日本工業規格JIS Z 8305「活字の基準寸法」は、号数をポイントの値で定め直した。この「新号数」では、一号・三号・四号・六号・八号の値が旧来のものからわずかに変わっている[^jis]。

活字の製造方法の変遷については高橋[@takahashi2012]が、近代印刷の導入期の資料については水野[@mizuno2016]が概観している。

## おわりに

金属活字が使われなくなったいまも、号数の名残は身近に残っている。和文のワープロソフトが本文の既定の大きさとする10.5ポイントは、五号の値そのものである。号数活字の三つの系列は、日本語の組版が長く拠り所としてきた寸法の体系であった。

### 引文序号排成上标

许多日本期刊把序号排成上标。`marker: 'superscript'`把序号升到行上，不加圆括号，文献表不变。

## 常见问题

- **日文文本标记为'ja'，不要用zh-Hans或LANG.** 食谱的版本是en和es，但日文示例在两个版本里都是日文：`locale: LANG`会把它标记为英文或西班牙文，中文标记则会按中文规则排它（开明式标点、小假名可以出现在行首、图代替図、PDF中用中文字形）。写'ja'：它选用日本地区（JLReq断行和标点、芝麻着重号、振假名的分布、図和表标签），并关闭断词。lint会让带假名却标记为zh或ko的文本失败。
- **日文要用日文字体排.** Noto Serif SC和TC里有假名，但汉字是中文字形（直、骨、角都不同），假名也是中文字体的设计。正文用Noto Serif JP或Shippori Mincho B1，标题用Noto Sans JP，用loadCjkFonts加载。Fontsource的日文文件里没有变体假名等历史假名（U+1B000–1B16F）：loadCjkFonts遇到它们会失败，PDF里印出空框，所以要写现代假名，或者把含有这些字的字体放进食谱的assets。Shippori Mincho也没有带长音符号的ō和ū：罗马字要用拉丁字体排。
- **中文字体通过cjk块分片加载.** Fontsource把一个中文、日文或韩文字体家族按每个字重约一百个文件提供，每个文件覆盖一段字符范围。loadFonts只获取latin文件，所以屏幕上的汉字来自系统字体，测量不准；fontsourceProvider交给PDF的也是这个latin文件，汉字印出来是空框。列出kit中的cjk块，在loadFonts之后调用loadCjkFonts(FONTS, markdown)（书中用到几种CJK字体时，每种字体调用一次，并传入它所排的文字），并给renderToPdf传fontProvider: cjkPdfProvider：两者都会取用包含文中字符的那些文件。
- **在字格网格上关闭各栏齐底.** 页面提前结束时（例如标题要与正文同栏，在页底留下空行），各栏齐底会在标题上方增加网格行，或把一个段落排松一行，把页面填满。中文行排松后字会散开（在GB/T 9704页面上为0.13 em，远超balancing.maxTracking），于是字离开网格的列，标题也离开它们所在的行。以格计量的页面应当让它提前结束：设置headings.balancing: { enabled: false }。
- **SVG <img>中的文字不能使用网络字体.** SVG作为图像绘制，而图像无法使用页面的网络字体，所以其中的标签会退回系统字体。把文字转成轮廓，在SVG中嵌入@font-face子集，或者把标签移到题注里。
- **传入任何headings对象都会关掉H1换页.** 默认情况下，H1换页到右页（always-odd），但只要传入headings对象，这个默认值就会被重置，于是各章接排，span: 'page'也不起作用。在每份配置中重新写明headings.levels[0].breakBefore: { enabled: true, parity }。
- **frontmatter的每个值都加引号.** YAML会把title: 1984读成数字，把日期读成Date对象；非字符串的值在占位符中打印为空，PDF也会没有标题。每个值都加引号：title: "1984"。
- **排版前加载所有字体.** 排版用浏览器已加载的字体测量文字，并缓存宽度，所以首次构建之后才到的字体会造成断行错误，PDF也不再与屏幕一致。先加载所有字重和样式；有字体迟到时，重新构建前调用clearMeasurementCache()。

- 日本人名要分成`family`和`given`写，或者写成一个不带空格的`literal`。写成一个字符串、姓和名之间有空格的人名，就像BibTeX里常见的`author = {夏目 漱石}`，会按姓在前读；但罗马字写法`Natsume Soseki`会像英文人名那样按名在前、姓在后读。
- 随包的SIST 02样式不印DOI；如果某篇文章的DOI必须给出，请写进正文或脚注。
