#1 · Anomena el tipus a la línia del guió
El codi és la resposta curta de dalt. Una línia del guió és personatge{tipus}: text, i el tipus és l’identificador d’un estil de bafarada. Els nou estils de sèrie cobreixen els tipus habituals: un oval amb rabet corbat per al diàleg, un núvol amb bombolles per al pensament, un contorn discontinu per al xiuxiueig, un esclat amb rabet en falca per al crit i un contorn trencat amb rabet en zig-zag per a una veu per ràdio (estils de bafarada). Un estil de la configuració amb el mateix identificador canvia només el que anomena: aquí el color del traç, el groc de les cartel·les i les 16 puntes de l’esclat. caption, note i sfx són personatges reservats: cartel·les encaixades en un racó, la nota de l’editor a 0,8 vegades el cos i lletres de cartell sense bafarada.

Cada imatge porta àncores en fraccions de la imatge: la boca a què apunta el rabet d’un diàleg, el cap a què apunta un pensament i la cara que cap bafarada no pot tapar (personatges i àncores). El patró no es veu mai: la seva àncora a la imatge de la tempesta és la ràdio i, a la del mar, el seu vaixell. Quan qui parla no és a la vinyeta, tail=end (o start, top, bottom) porta el rabet a aquella vora, i at="44% 22%" fixa el centre d’una bafarada en un punt de la imatge, que es manté amb qualsevol retall. Dues línies seguides d’un mateix personatge es fonen en un contorn amb un sol rabet.

El repartiment de la resposta curta dona a cada línia skipper: l’estil de ràdio, de manera que el guió no repeteix {radio}. Una línia pot dir una altra cosa: a la vinyeta del matí el patró crida des del vaixell, skipper{speech tail=bottom}:, amb una bafarada normal el rabet de la qual surt pel peu de la vinyeta.

Carrega totes les fonts abans de compondre
La composició mesura el text amb les fonts que el navegador ha carregat i en desa les amplades, així que una font que arriba després de la primera composició deixa talls de línia erronis i un PDF que ja no coincideix amb la pantalla. - Un punt fixat és un punt del dibuix i es manté amb qualsevol retall. Una onomatopeia fixada tan a prop de la vora que sortiria de la vinyeta (BRRROOM! a
